Assistive Access not showing Favorites in Call or Messages app

When in Assistive Access mode, if I press the Call or Message app the next screen is blank with nothing on it. I do have Favorites selected in Contacts and see those Favorites when in the Call app (when NOT in Assistive Access) and see those same Favorites when in the Assistive Access set up screen. I have selected Favorites in the "Make Calls To" in Assistive Access setup. I can't figure out why this is not working. I want to set it up so my elderly mother sees her Favorites when in the Call app (and Messages app) when in Assistive Access mode. Thoughts? This is on my mother's iPhone 13 running iOS 18.2

Thanks for the reply but my issue is with "Assistive Access" mode - sometimes called, "Senior Mode". It dramatically changes your phone's interface - it's mainly for elderly folks and is greatly very simplified.
