There is an activation lock on my iPad mini that I got for Christmas when I was a child and I have been unable to get into it as everywhere wants proof of buying I know the password to get into the iPad and I know the email and password

As you will discover, unless you are the owner of the AppleID that was last used to activate the device, you’ll not be able to defeat or bypass the Activation Lock. With documentary evidence that you are the original owner (such as sales receipt showing the serial number), Apple may be prepared to assist - otherwise they and nobody here will be able to help you.

Me too it’s because on my school iPad. My school is still supervising it and I’m almost at high school and this is my school iPad from first grade still doesn’t work.
Contact the school and ahhh they remove their MDM profile from it.
And also, I’ve been searching on this iPad for years looking for Ways I even went so far that I looked on the MDM website that they were using trying to figure out passwords that they might have used in somehow unenroll but it never worked

That’s not gonna do you any good. The only people that can remove it is the company/school that put it on there in the first place.
