iPhone 16 Pro Not Detecting 5GHz Wi-Fi Network Intermittently

Hello,

I have an iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.2, and I'm experiencing an issue where my device does not detect the 5GHz Wi-Fi network, while other devices can see and connect to it without any problems.

Around three weeks ago, I faced the same issue and contacted Apple Support. The first time, they advised me to delete all VPNs and reset the network settings. I followed these steps, and the issue was resolved. However, the second time, these methods didn't work, and I had to back up and restore the device, which was very time-consuming. This solved the issue at that time.

Now, after about three weeks, the problem has returned. Other devices still detect and connect to the 5GHz network without issues, but my phone cannot see or connect to it.

I would appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue permanently.

If your iPhone is not detecting a 5GHz Wi-Fi network, one possible reason could be that the iPhone’s MAC address is restricted by the router. This can happen if your device’s MAC address has been included in a blacklist or excluded from a whitelist for the specific SSID (WiFi Network Name) that is relaying the 5GHz Wi-Fi network. MAC address filtering is a security feature used by some routers to control which devices can access a network based on their unique MAC addresses. If the router has this feature enabled, it could block your iPhone from connecting to the 5GHz band.

To resolve this, you can contact the ISP that installed the router to check and adjust the settings, ensuring that your iPhone’s MAC address is not blocked or excluded from the network.

This issue is not related to MAC filtering or access restrictions on the router. I am an IT specialist, and I have already checked these settings. My iPhone doesn’t detect any 5GHz networks, even though other devices can connect to the same networks without any issues. The problem seems to be with the device or iOS itself, not the router configuration. Please suggest another solution.
