Photos Shared Albums Not Syncing

I recently upgraded to a new iMac which is running Sequoia 15.2, & everything appeared to have migrated over to the new iMac without any significant problems. However, although all of the photos in my Photos Library have synced on the new machine, my Share Albums have not. I've tried everything I've seen on this forum, including toggling Shared iCloud albums in Photos Settings, toggling Photos on & off in iCloud, then rebooting & restarting photos. I can see that my photos are still syncing, but why are the Shared Albums not syncing? Any help is appreciated.

Are you signed into the same iCloud account on your new Mac as you were on the old Mac?


Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.


NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following; 

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts 

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files


NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

I tried the Safe Mode boot & unplugged all externals. Photos said it was syncing, but nothing was happening. I ended up logging out of iCloud & logging in again, but the problems still persists. Signing out & logging in again usually solves any iCloud issues. My iPhone, iPad, & MacBook all show the shared albums, but this new iMac won't show them. It's so odd, because those Shared Albums were originally set up on my old iMac, the one from which I migrated everything onto the new iMac. I also logged into iCloud on the internet & the Shared Albums don't show up there either. Any other ideas?
