No Bass and Flat Sound in iPhone 16 Pro Earpiece Speaker

The earpiece speaker sounds flat, without bass, so voices during calls have no depth and sound less natural. Multimedia audio works fine, but the problem is noticeable during phone calls.

I sent the phone under warranty, and Apple replaced it with a brand-new device, but the issue remains exactly the same.

I’m not sure if it’s a software issue or a hardware problem, but I’ve tested the earpiece sound on the iPhone 15 Pro, 14 Pro, and 11 Pro, and those models sound much better. Their earpiece speakers are deep and rich, with clear low tones. The iPhone 16 Pro, however, has a flat sound. When I contacted Apple support, they told me to “get used to it,” which feels very disrespectful.

This feels like a poorly made product, but many people might not notice the issue because they don’t pay attention to sound details. As someone who works in music production, I can hear these problems clearly. In fact, even my old water-damaged iPhone 11 Pro sounds better than the iPhone 16 Pro during calls. The issue seems to be with sounds below 250Hz, which are important for giving voices a full and natural sound. Older models like the iPhone 11 Pro and 15 Pro handled this much better. This could be an issue with the speaker design or the way the sound is tuned in iOS itself for the iPhone 16 Pro.This is a serious problem. I ask everyone to check their phones and report this to Apple, or we’ll all end up stuck with a product that doesn’t meet the quality Apple is known for.

Expressing or conveying visual experiences effectively through these forums may be challenging. The underlying visual issue on your iPhone cannot be accurately diagnosed online. Factors such as your iPhone's specific settings, visual defects, and potential hardware problems cannot be assessed through this method. For more personalized and in-depth assistance, I recommend securing a Genius Bar Reservation and exploring the various support options provided by Apple.

Get a Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

When you encounter issues with your Apple devices, the Genius Bar at Apple Retail Stores is the go-to place for expert assistance. The Genius Bar is staffed by knowledgeable Apple employees, often referred to as "Geniuses," who can diagnose and resolve a wide range of hardware and software-related problems. To ensure personalized attention and a convenient visit, Apple provides the option to schedule a Genius Bar Reservation.

Contact Genius Bar.

I tried to contact an authorized service center in Poland, specifically the one in Gdynia - Klif Shopping Center, “iSpot.” I thought it was the equivalent of a Genius Bar, but my experience was very negative. I was treated dismissively and misled over the phone. They told me to arrange service through Apple’s website instead of offering me the option to visit their location for a diagnosis. In the end, I was brushed off and directed to Apple.com to seek help.

It feels like Apple treats customers in Poland as if we are in a third-world country. There is no official Genius Bar here, and the authorized service centers, like iSpot, act more like independent companies. They do not provide the level of support Apple customers expect.

During my call with iSpot, they didn’t invite me to visit their service center or offer any concrete help. Instead, they complained about long queues, which shows how uncommitted they are to solving customer issues. In my experience, the service in Poland not only fails to meet Apple’s standards but makes getting help even harder.

Currently, I have been assigned an Apple Support Specialist who is handling my case. I expect updates next week. I hope my issue will be taken seriously, and I will get a proper explanation of the sound quality problem in the earpiece speaker of my iPhone 16 Pro.

Additionally, since my phone was sent to service and replaced with a new device, there must have been some issue with it, right? If so, why does Apple send me and as I’ve read, hundreds of other people a new phone with the same defect? This approach doesn’t make sense and suggests that Apple is not solving the problem but rather ignoring it entirely.

I also want to point out that I sent my phone directly to Apple’s central service, which is supposed to be more competent than the authorized service centers. I expect that the service center in the Czech Republic, which handled my case, properly diagnosed the issue. However, in my case, the device was replaced blindly, without any attempt to address the defect I reported. The replacement phone still has the exact same problem!

The conclusion is clear. Apple knows it released a product that doesn’t meet quality standards, and now the company is trying to avoid responsibility, ignoring the issues and shifting the burden onto customers and service centers.

This kind of policy is unacceptable and damages Apple’s reputation as a brand known for its high-quality service and reliable products.

Are you responding just to earn points, or did you actually read and understand my issue? I clearly explained in my post that I sent my phone to service, it was replaced with a new one, and the problem remains exactly the same. I’m looking for a proper response, not a generic suggestion that doesn’t apply to my case.

If Apple is replacing phones blindly without explaining the reason, then clearly something is wrong either with the diagnostics or with the service process itself. Your reply doesn’t address my problem at all and completely ignores what I described. If you don’t have anything helpful to add, please don’t respond.

We’re all Apple users here. No need to attack fellow users. Apple Support Community is a public discussion forum for fellow Apple users to assist each other and share tips and solutions. Apple hosts the community, but is not a participant and will never read your comment.

Since you’re not satisfied with the comments and suggestions of fellow users, I think you’ll be best served by contacting Apple Support in Poland. Apple Support will be best situated to address your concerns and criticisms.

I want to clarify that I am not attacking anyone. I’ve simply described my issue in detail and explained that I’ve already contacted Apple Support and even sent my phone to service. My case is currently being handled by an assigned Apple Support Specialist, which I clearly mentioned in my posts.

The problem I’m talking about is the product’s quality and how Apple is handling the issue. Telling me to contact Apple Support again doesn’t help because I’ve already done that. I’m here to share my experience and see if other users have faced the same problem, as this clearly isn’t just affecting me.

Also, if Apple service and support can’t actually fix problems, what’s the point? In my case, the phone was replaced with a brand-new one, which shows Apple acknowledged there was an issue. But the new phone still has the exact same problem, meaning nothing was actually solved.

And if someone doesn’t read what I’ve written properly and just says “contact Apple Support,” it feels like they’re either trying to earn points on the forum or completely ignoring the facts, which doesn’t help and is a waste of time.
