Damaged charging port on iPad,therefore unable to charge

I now require a Magic Keyboard to attach to the iPad to charge it. It’s an iPad pro(12.9) 3rd gen.

Set up a service appointment at an Apple Store to get it diagnosed and repaired or replaced.

iPad type c port doesn’t charge! My iPad is suddenly not charging with its type c port but with the Magic Keyboard it works. I’ve done several methods but it is still the same.

iPad charging via the Magic Keyboard port I’ve been charging my iPad via a charger from wall electricity outlet directly to the Magic Keyboard port since I bought them. Now the iPad says “not charging” when I try that arrangement and will only charge via the iPad port. Why?

I did take it to the Apple Store and it’s an expensive repair job, and they recommend using a Magic Keyboard,so I’m looking for one.
