UAD Apollo Solo with M3 Macbook Pro - input stutters and glitches...
The Apollo Solo (Heritage edition, Thunderbolt 3), glitches when connecting an input signal with Logic Pro.
What happens:
- When plugging in an instrument or mic, the signal / sound appears, then disappears, crackling and popping
The setup is correct:
- Sonoma OS
- The latest Logic is installed (11.2 - it also glitched with the prior version). I have uninstalled, deleted the plist in the Libraries, and reinstalled twice.
- The lastest UAD drivers are installed, and I have correctly (3 times) uninstalled and reinstalled the UAD software, carefully following UAD instructions for Apple silicon: recovery mode, security settings, etc., etc.
- The Apollo DOES work seamlessly on the new M3 Macbook Pro with *Pro Tools, *Ableton, browser-based SoundTrap. (The Apollo was also used without issue with a prior, Intel-based Macbook Pro.)
- I've tried multiple brand new Thunderbolt cables
- Brought the laptop to Guitar Center and tried other Audio Interfaces - they also worked with Pro Tools, etc., but glitched exactly the same way with Logic Pro
- I've switched out 1/4 inch patch cables, and tried all the inputs on the Solo
- The sample rate and bit rates are set to be the same in the UAD console and in Logic Pro
- Record monitoring is enabled
- Volumes are up
- The correct Apollo "input 1" is being used and selected in Logic as the input source
- I hear sound, and see the level meter dance up, then crackle and go silent, then suddenly make sound again and then disappear.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm at a loss, and running behind on a recording project, and much prefer Logic to Pro Tools.
