Logic Pro X no longer switches automatically to CAF if 2GB exceeded

Logic Pro X used to automatically change its recording format from AIFF to CAF if the audio file size exceeded 2 GB. It no longer does so. Why?

Why does Apple insist on making everything less flexible and less useful with every update?

Logic doesn't work anymore I have a new computer and I cant download Logic Pro X from the Apple store again. The library is only partially accessible and not all plug-ins have been downloaded. Unable to record audio. What shall I do?
