How to fix low volume in imported MP3 and WAV files on Logic Pro after 11.2 update ?

Logic Pro 11.2 upgrade affects audio file imports (tried both MP3 and WAV). They are so quiet now as to be useless. This is a huge problem for my creative process.

So Ben, my fader is set at 0db when I go to import the file. However, for now I have a work around as I have an M2 ipad and it imports perfectly into logic for ipad and I save the file and then I grab the file from icloud on my mac and voila. Works perfectly again. It would be nice to have this working. I never did anything special before, just created a single audio track in a new project, did File import audio and clicked on the mp3 file. It always worked until the 11.2 update. Gain was always at 0db. But my creative process has been restored so until they fix this there is an extra step but I am able to do what I want... Thanks for your thoughts, Derek

For you to say that Normalization is useless is rather odd as there are so many differing workflows and various work scenarios.I understand you may not use it but that is not necessarily true for others sir so please do not generalize and make broad statements.

Also, Compression, whether soft or hard, will have an impact on the perceived depth of a composition because it’ll reduce the distance between the loudest and quietest parts. This has its place for sure.

However, normalization still makes sense if you want to preserve the authenticity of your composition and a high loudness is not your main priority. This might work for a mixer or for Sampling.
