selected track(for recording) staying active after moving to new track

Since the update b4 last....selected track(for recording)keeps staying active after moving to new track.Never did this b4..Ok if you want to play multiple tracks at once, but very annoying having to back track and figure out what's also sounding as I only want to switch tracks...Anyone else having this happen?is it a glitch, and can it be turned off and returned to easily switching tracks without having to return to previous tracks just to Unselect them?
