Spotlight Search Showing Deleted Call History

Subject: Spotlight Search Showing Deleted WeChat Call History

I am experiencing an issue with my iPhone 14 running iOS 18.2.1 , When I use Spotlight Search, I still see recent and missed calls from the WeChat app appearing, even though I have deleted them from the app’s Recent Calls menu.

Here are the steps I have taken to try to resolve the issue:

1. Deleted the call history directly from the WeChat app.

2. Disabled Spotlight Search for WeChat in Siri & Search settings.

3. Restarted the iPhone and cleared the cache in WeChat.

Despite these attempts, the call records still appear in Spotlight Search. This raises concerns about privacy and data handling.

Could you please advise me on how to completely remove these entries from Spotlight Search? If this is an issue with iOS, I would appreciate any information about a potential fix or update.

On iPhones, deleting a call from the native Recents history typically removes its record from Spotlight Search. However, if the call log pertains to a third-party app like WeChat:

If you delete the call from the app itself (e.g., WeChat, WhatsApp call log), its Spotlight Search visibility depends on how the app handles deletion.
If deleted entries remain searchable in Spotlight, it's likely due to the app not updating its indexing or not fully removing the metadata.

For such cases, the app developer must address the issue, as Spotlight relies on the data exposed by the app through Apple's APIs.
