Hi there, I just got brand new AirPods (4th gen), which have extreme sound leakage, even at low volumes that could be heard from across rooms. This is not something I would expect from a respectable, expensive brand like Apple. The sound leakage is honestly resulting in my inability to use them. I could use some help if there are any possible solutions.

Since they do not form a seal to the ear canal, leakage is inevitable. This is true of any earbuds with that type of design.
If you're unhappy with them, return them for a refund and buy something that suits your needs better.
Absolutely agree! I got them as a gift from my partner. 1. To drown out his voice, noice cancelling setting. I can still hear his wine l, full whack! The setting, if you talk the volume lowers, 1a. If you sing the noise lowers. 2. If someone else talks in the vicinity, NO MATTER HOW CLOSE, up stairs, down stairs, they lower!1b. If I sing along, it lowers/goes off! 3. I wear them to bed, music helps me sleep, my partner hears every word, even when it’s low volume. And that’s through his snoring!!!!
