Cybersecurity (NIS2) with iPhone devices

Dear Community,

I am asking for the help of experienced professionals to help me with the following:

From a cybersecurity (NIS2) point of view, how much is it worth buying an iphone SE 2022 these days? How risky is it to stay with the current iphone x device?

Best Regards,

Gabor

I am not a cyber security expert but I am a 20+ year IT professional. In my opinion, if you are concerned with security - as I am - do not buy an older iPhone that will lose Apple Support sooner rather than later. Buy the newest iPhone model you can afford. This will insure that it will receive updates for the longest number of years. That's what I do. As an IT professional, I am aware of so many worst case scenarios. I do all I can to keep my data safe. Granted, I've been called "too careful," but rather safe than sorry.

It's not that simple, unfortunately. On the one hand financially, and on the other hand most of the newer iphones - especially the more affordable category, e.g. iphone 12-13 have that disgusting truncated notch display.

You can be more careful that you need to be based on the actual risk. If you are someone whose data would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain, it won't really matter which iPhone you have. If you don't fall into that category (like most of us), take reasonable precautions.

Also, it's amazing how fast you get used to the notch.
