Can't record with wired earbuds in?

Troubleshooting request: I am trying to use GarageBand on my iPad Pro to record live audio of my band.

I have a USB dongle plugged in to the iPad, and my In-Ear Monitor headphones plugged into the dongle.

When I have the IEMs plugged in, the audio will record blank. As soon as I take the IEMs out, the audio will record fine again.

Any ideas? Thinking its a setting or a problem with my cheap USB dongle.

Can i record from USB while listening via jack on headphones? I want to record my guitar with Garageband but to also hear what i record on headphones. So i am using a USB mixer and today have purchased a USB hub, I have connected the mixer and the headphones to the hub but i either hear the sound or i can record but not both in the same time. Is this a limitation of the ipad or of the hub? What adaptor or hub should i purchase? Thanks

USB microphone and headphones with iPad pro Hello ! I have an iPad Pro (2018) that I want to connect to my audio recording setup: a usb microphone (I use an USB-C cable) and headphones with a mini jack connector. Alone, the microphone works perfectly with my iPad, but it doesn’t allow me to connect my headphones simultaneously. I tried two adapters, the latest from Belkin https://www.belkin.com/3.5-mm-audio-charge-rockstar/P-F8J212.html The microphone works well but my iPad doesn’t recognize the microphone. What can I do to listen to the songs I’m recording?
