Messaging app missing in CarPlay after iOS 18 update

After deleting and installing the car play icons on my Honda CRV, the i messaging app does not install. So when i want to send a message, Siri simply says:” I don’t see an app for that”.

How can i install the messaging app in my Honda CRV CarPlay?

Car Play text messages wont' play after ios update I see this has been posted a few times but can't find a solution detailed. I use wired carplay in my F150, my wife uses wireless in her brand new Mazda. Since we both updated to IOS18.1.1 neither one of us gets a notification on the screen in our vehicles when we get a text message. Previous to the update, it didn't matter what screen we were in, we'd get a text notification pop up, and then it would take you to the Car Play screen. Now, nothing. Meaning I have to regularly tap the screen to open Car Play to see if the text icon is showing a message has been received. Is there a fix for this?

No Messages app available in CarPlay after iOS 18 update Messages is no longer available to select in CarPlay after receiving the iOS 18 update. I have reset CarPlay (removed the cars from it). Still not there. Now when attempting to use it in the car, it tells me to go download an app that supports this function. UGH. Help please!

I had the same problem, but discovered it was because I had set my messages app to required Face ID. Once I removed that, it showed back up.
