This is what the old user should have done before selling that Mac to you: What to do before you sell, give away, trade in, or recycle your Mac - Apple Support

The only entity that can remove the remote management is the entity that installed it.

Never buy a used Mac from an unknown source. This Mac is a door stop unless you can contact the previous owner and get their help.

If you must buy used, consider buying from Apple Certified Refurbished.

The school did not prepare the Mac properly for resale and it you may need to contact them to get it released from their management system. You can try booting the Mac to recovery mode, erasing the drive, and reinstalling macOS:

but if it still insists on credentials from the former owner, then only they can release it. If you are unable to contact the seller, the Mac is basically a boat anchor at this point and you'll need to file a complain with Amazon and try to get your money back. This is one of the hazards of buying any device sight-unseen.

Good luck.
