My MacBook Air M1 2020 recognize my new Apple USB Superdrive, but, when inserting a CD or DVD, the Superdrive doesn't take the CD or DVD. The Superdrive is connected to my MacBook Air with a not Apple-made USB to USB-c adapter. Might that be the problem? Or is it possible to use any kind of adapter to connect de Superdrive to the MacBook? Let me know and thanks for reactions!

I use mine on the Apple USB adapter and it works fine. I haven't tried any other adapters.
Before you splash out on a new adapter, are you sure there isn't a disc in the drive already?
