Hopefully I can clear up some confusion about what Apple Arcade is. Apple does not make any games and Apple Arcade is simply a collection of about 150 games designed by other developers. You can view this collection in the App Store under the Arcade side bar. You can play any or all of these games for the subscription price of $6.99/month and in addition none of these games include ads, subscriptions, or any in-app purchases. After briefly looking through the many games there I did not see a Sudoku game, so if that is the only game you would be interested in, then Apple Arcade would not be for you and you did the right thing by cancelling the subscription.
As for other games available in the App Store, they are created by independent developers and you too can be one if you wish. These developers spend their own time and money to produce the games and also to continue to update them. They have many different ways they can recoup the expenses they have made in both time and money by:
- Ads
- In-App Purchase
- Purchase price to download
- Subscription
- Free Trial that later becomes a subscription
You don't need to send Apple or me an invoice for any help in creating a product, you can do that yourself. After you have spent your time and money in making the game, then you can choose to distribute it any way you wish, just like the other developers do. Apple makes zero money off of any ads that developers use in their apps. They only make 15% off of any purchase that a user makes from an in-app purchase or subscription, if your revenue is less than $1 million dollars. You can even choose to not have any ads or purchases where no revenue will be generated, but as you can see, most people are not willing to do that, but that does not mean you can't.
