Just as the title states, Apple seemingly will not take responsibility for this issue and has concluded through its tech support it is a hardware issue, when it was working fine with 17.X then suddenly stopped charging after update to 18.1…. Not a coincidence.

Hello~ I must respectfully beg to differ as I had a charging port issue right after an update as well. It was in fact a coincidence. My device was replaced under my AppleCare plan. Sorry you’re having issues. Take it in for repair…

Hello again ~ No…not iOS 18 but immediately after an update and it was a newer device than yours when it happened. It was the charging port for sure on my device. It has always been my experience that Apple wants happy customers and have been extremely supportive in the rare case I needed support. Have you taken it in and spoken with someone at an Apple Store in person? Again, I am sorry you are having issues. I will say that I have updated an older iPhone and iPad to iOS 18.2.1 without issue.

By chance was it after the 18 update? And was yours literally after the update?
I have this exact same problem after iOS 18 update on my 1 year old iPad Pro.
