How to fix MacBook stuck on login screen?

It says name and password but I got this Mac book from the pawn shop

If it's asking for a user name and password, then it's probably locked to the previous owner and if so you will not be able to use it and will need to return the Mac to the pawnshop and get your money back. But you can try this:


Erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings - Apple Support


If it still asks for a user name and password, then that Mac is now a doorstop and you should return it.
