iPad Photos file closing after a few minutes

If I open a photo on my ipad and i want it to stay open for an hour instead of closing how do i do this?

Photos app stuck in select mode (iOS 16.3) The Photos app periodically will only allow me to select photos, not open them for editing. I can exit select mode, but as soon as I tap another photo it goes back into select mode. Restarting the app doesn’t help, though restarting the ipad does fix it. Photos don’t consistently save on camera roll Sometimes I click photos and don’t see it saving on the camera roll. I have to restart my phone for it to start saving again. I’m on 17.1 on an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Settings>Display & Brightness>Auto-Lock
