How can I claim AppleCare warranty for a pre-owned iPhone?

I bought a pre-owned iPhone 15 Pro Max from a shop in Dubai, and it still has an active AppleCare warranty. Now that I have returned to Sri Lanka, I would like to know the process for claiming warranty service if anything happens to my iPhone.

Do I need to locate the original owner or send the device back to the country where it was purchased to claim the warranty?

Hello,

"You may be responsible for shipping and handling charges if the Apple Product cannot be serviced in the country it is in."

Apple One (1) Year Limited Warranty

I highly recommend you to contact the store first so they can provide you the information.

Generally, the previous owner has to transfer the Apple Care warranty to you and you pay any remainder on the Apple Care warranty. It’s possible you do not have coverage under Apple Care. Please contact the retailer in Dubai and confirm you have coverage. Please review the information in the Apple Support article I linked to below.
