Logic Pro 11. Midi notes not stopping.

I have a string track that won't stop holding the last notes in the region. i.e. the last chord continues holding right through the next region until I either manually stop the entire track or it cycles and restarts from the beginning of the track. It's a Midi note problem I think. How do I ensure notes recognise Midi note values including length?

Thanks Eddie. My Automation is set to Track (only) and Volume as below.



I switched on Region Automation and it's set to 'Note Velocity' (see image below). I haven't ever used Sustain automation. However, a work around solution was to edit the last notes in each region (in piano scroll mode) by deleting each note then creating a note in its place. Worked fine, but it doesn't tell me why it's occurring in the first place so I'm none the wiser. It could be that my sustain pedalling as a I record is a bit suss ;-)). I have one other piece where the same issue is occurring on a couple of tracks (at least I know how to do the workaround but it's not exactly fast / elegant).
