Deleted Photos reappearing in iMessages

I have several photos I deleted and have permanently deleted. There are no photos in the hidden folder or the recently deleted folder. However, the deleted photos are showing up in iMessage when I click the add photo button to add a pic to a text message. When I scroll down, the pics are there somehow. How can I fix this?
