Question

AirPlay from iTunes on pc

Unknown to me my internet was playing up. I was trying to airplay from iTunes on my pc to an AirPlay speaker without joy. I was clicking on the AirPlay icon on iTunes , nothing was happening and then it disappeared! My internet is now all sorted but I cannot get the AirPlay icon back in iTunes, so still can’t airplay from pc to speaker. Can anybody offer any help and advice? I can AirPlay from my iPhone and iPad perfectly. I’ve reinstalled iTunes onto my pc but no change! Help would be so appreciated!!

iTunes on a pc has airplay. It shows as a blue symbol to the right of play button to the left of the playing display panel in the centre at the top of the screen. I have been using it for the last 10 years at least!!!

Have you installed the newer apps from Apple: Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices? If so, they take over most of the functions previously provided by iTunes. Either use Apple Music or Apple TV, as appropriate, to play your media now, or uninstall those apps which will restore iTunes back to its original functionality.

Hi and thanks for your time! I’ve not installed anything other than iTunes.

when I open iTunes the airplay icon comes on really quickly and then disappears. If you blink you miss it!!!

i wonder if I have a network issue?

It even used AirPlay 2 system, you could connect and play music from iTunes to multiple speakers around the house

Thanks for the help, useful information. Except the symbol they talk about that can turn orange if there is an issue or be used to select the speakers has totally disappeared?
