How do I get my iPhone out of update mode?

Plugged in my iphone 13 to my PC to transfer some pictures. Decided to update. It went through several minutes appearing to work and then said error/couldn't update. Now I can't do anything. Screen shows the Apple logo and a half way across horizontal line. Won't shut down-nothing! HELP!!!!!!

To get your iPhone out of update mode, you can try force restarting your phone:

  1. Press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time
  2. Keep holding until the screen turns off
  3. Release the buttons when the Apple logo appears

Once your iPhone restarts, you can check that it's running the new iOS by going to Settings > General > About.

You can also try these other methods: Delete the iOS update from your iPhone, Turn Airplane Mode on and off, and Disable Restrictions.

If your iPhone is taking a long time to update, it could be because of low storage space or a slow internet connection
