How can I transfer my playlists from Windows to iPhone?

So i recently upgraded to the iPhone 16. Prior to that I was on the iPhone 13 and was still using iTunes to backup and manage my music playlists. It was easy and great. But apparently now I must backup and manage using different apps, so need Apple Music and Apple Devices app. Once I added the new apps, I can see where I back up the phone via the Apple Devices, but the music is managed separately on Apple Music. Well the problem is now my playlists that I had originally on my phone are now erased from the phone but I do see them in Apple Music. While I have sync entire music library in Apple devices, it does not copy my orignial playlists back to my phone. Also in Apple devices, the playlists that I created are not showing under 'Playlists' except for the default ones. I tried dragging from Apple Music over to Apple Devices, and it appeared I was able to drag over but it didn't work. So how can I transfer the playlists I had created back over back to my phone again? This is frustrating as it is not as intuitive as iTunes was. I hope I don't have to re-create all my playlists. Please help!

Just an update for who ever it maybe helpful. So I went ahead and uninstalled the new Apple apps and reinstalled iTunes per your link reference above. That seemed to help clear whatever error there was since as soon as i plugged my phone, iTunes did pick it up in the app. I am happy to continue with iTunes for now. Don't know why they made it more complicated as well to manage with different apps instead of just maintaining and improving iTunes as it seems smarter than the new apps.

anyways thanks tt2

Well iTunes didn't recognize my iPhone 16 when i connected for first time. upon googling i saw that is phasing out, so I thought I should get updated to use the new way which was install the Apple Devices, Apple Music and Apple TV as what was suggested. So when I did, Apple Devices recognized my phone and I was able to do backup like I used to on iTunes, except that it didn't copy my music playlists or any of my movie files. If iTunes is supposed to work how do I get it to recognize iPhone 16 to begin with? I guess I'll try to uninstall the Apple apps and try to reinstall iTunes again. But not sure how long will that hold up then if phasing out...

please advise

thanks
