Drum machine designer VST has disappeared from instrument slot

Opened a project I’ve been working on (in Logic 11.1.1) and the drum machine designer q-samplers were no longer in a track stack. The DMD track had the VST itself missing and the instrument slot has now turned into an input slot - so obviously midi isn’t sending as the track is now an audio track and the DMD plugin isn’t there. How did this happen and is there anyway to reverse it/change the track back into a DMD track?

Thanks!

I have earlier versions saved but there’s a good few hours work difference between that project and the one I’m trying to use now.

I do still have all of the q-sampler tracks that were initially assigned to the DMD pads, so realistically could drag and drop onto a new instance - but I’m just wary of this happening again, especially on projects that are close to being finished.

Is there any reason this could have happened/any way it could be undone?
