Time Machine Migration from Catalina
Can I use Time Machine, from Catalina, to migrate to new M4 iMac. Can I just use a USB A to USB C converter?

Yes. I do things wirelessly, but wireless environments can range from empty to hopelessly crowded. A wired connection obviates that uncertainty.
I'm a little unclear about Time Machine. If you have a TM backup on a directly connected hard disk drive, yes, it should be as simple as connecting that hard disk drive to the new Mac. As far as doing it that way vs. directly from one Mac to another over USB, it makes literally no difference, assuming that TM backup is up to date. Choose the more convenient option.
