Mac mini slow WIFI

I bought a new Mac mini in July 2024 and I love it. Had some domestic power supply issues due to recent storms and then today I measured my wifi speed at less than 1 Mbps download. Having sought advice from my broadband provider, they agreed to send an engineer. Strangely TV streaming was great and so I ran a speed check on my iPhone. All good.

A little more research led me to check two Network settings in the Mac mini:

Firstly, the ETHERNET was set to INACTIVE (it wasn't) and secondly that THUNDERBOLT BRIDGE was NOT CONNECTED.

Having ensured the two settings were as required. I ran a speed test with the Mac mini and all is well.

I recall setting up the Mac mini with an Ethernet cable but then switching to Wifi when trying to find an earth leakage fault in my house electrics. That is the likely reason that the Ethernet was ACTIVE.

Just thought I'd share that in the hope that it helps someone sometime.
