After updating to 15.2 (24C101) there was a problem with Notes. Now they can only be opened in a new window. And the big white window on the right to immediately write notes is no longer there.

Thank you! How did you figure this out? I've been using Notes for a million years and suddenly it changes and the main window is gone. Are people at Apple just tying to make people's lives more frustrating? I thought their deal was making life simpler.
Click View > As Gallery in the menu bar, quit Notes, reopen Notes and click View > As List.
