Why does my Apple Podcast play automatically whenever I enter my car

How do I stop it from autoplaying?

Apple Podcast incorrectly marks episodes as played Something weird is happening with Apple Podcasts since the iOS 18 update. After I finish an episode, it automatically jumps to a different episode, puts it in play mode without actually starting it, and then marks it as played. This is super frustrating because I usually hide played episodes, and now it's hiding episodes I haven’t even listened to. Can someone at Apple please support me with this?

How can I stop my Podcasts from auto-queuing? Any suggestions on how to stop podcast from automatically going into the Up Next queue? In addition, they are also being marked just played when they go into that queue. The continuous playback is off and fortunately has stopped, but this is very irritating. To make sure I don’t lose anything I download all of my new releases. Thanks for any fixes. I am updated to iOS 18. [Re-Titled By Moderator]

Maybe you have open the app on CarPlay. So what you have to do is close the app.

Still doesn’t fix the problem, thanks for the suggestion though.
