Suspicious message after my iPhone was stolen

My phone was stolen last month. And I received a weird message few days ago.

The message showed as follows

Recognize and avoid social engineering schemes including phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support


Apple doesn’t send messages like that.

Apple will never send a message like this.....because they do not get involved with lost or stolen phones.


The "weird" message is a scam that is trying to trick you into tapping on a link to provide your Apple ID and Password to the criminals who have your phone.....so they can get into your phone and then erase and sell it.


Do NOT respond to the message. Ignore and delete the message. Ignore and delete any other messages like this.

It indicates that the criminals removed and “read” your SIM before you cancelled it with your carrier.


Unfortunately, they now literally “have your number” and you’ll probably receive more of these — in various “flavors” from other bad actors — for quite some time.


It’s all part of the same targeting phishing strategy intended to cause you anxiety and prompt you to provide them with your phone and AppleID credentials.


Continue to ignore and delete them.
