In the past day, my iPhone’s battery drains quickly and the device heats up when connected to the internet. I have updated iOS and all apps, but several of my friends are experiencing the same issue. Could you please advise?

How is it connected to the internet? Cellular data connections use a huge amount of energy, and the weaker the connection the faster the energy consumption.

If it’s on Wi-Fi, you are presumably USING internet. Many apps use a lot of energy also; multiplayer games, streaming video for two.
