Unable to change my iPhone wallpaper from Home Screen

I have iphone 14 pro. It doesn't allow me to switch wallpapers from a long press on the home screen. I can do it fine from settings but I want my phone to be able to do what it is supposed to do, in this case, switch wallpaper from long press on home screen. Any ideas? I even resetted my phone back to scratch in the hopes that would 'loosen' something up, but to no avail. Any suggestions are welcome.
