I have been trying different ways to try to get my iphone (16 pro max, ios 18.2) to read an MicroSD card using a reader. It can be read on my mac and iPad (both are updated to the latest version) but there is not way for me to get the photos on my iPhone either in Files or in Photos. Is there any solution?

I have tried to do the following and have a compatible adapter, is there a reason why it is still not popping up in the files or photos section?
Try doing a forced restart with the device plugged into the iPhone. Once booted up, insert card into card reader. If it’s still not visible, the adapter is drawing more power than the port permits. You’ll need to replace it with a low power card reader.

If you are using iCloud Photos, you could import photos to the system Photos Library on your Mac (the one that syncs with iCloud). The phone would then pick up the new photos via its participation in iCloud Photos.
