iOS 18 discontinues iPhone Sleep Tracking feature! Not pleased.

iOS updates can come with improvements & failures.

iOS 18 has a failure because it eliminates a current iPhone feature. iOS 18 discontinues the iPhone Sleep Tracking.

I liked it. Now it's gone. I get it; Apple wants to make us buy Apple Smart Watches & new Apple product upgrades. But, I don't want a watch!

Apple just made the iPhone less useful.. & made iPhone users 1 more step closer to leaving Apple.

Dear Apple, try not to remind us how greedy & self-serving a company you are.

It’s not a failure (not an issue where something isn’t working or is “broken”). I doubt people would cite leaving Apple because of the removal of the sleep tracker (a lot of other reasons they might cite though) because those that truly rely on the sleep tracking feature are more likely to use something that would better and more accurately track…not necessarily an Apple Watch or Apple product. For example, I absolutely rely on sleep tracking but refuse to sleep in my Apple Watch. I use an Oura ring that much more accurately tracks…better than the Apple Watch and definitely better than the iPhone on its own. And that data is shared not only to the Oura app but to Apple’s Health app. As mentioned though…you could always use the Set Up Sleep feature in the Health app to see if that helps you.

I hope apple changes this, its a massive failure, my watch cannot last battery life for 16 hours… how are they expecting us to wear it all night and day…when do they expect people to charge the watch?

Just like any other wearable you would find the best charging option for your needs. If that means charging while you do activities that really don’t need you wearing the watch (showering, washing dishes, while sitting down for extended periods, etc) then that’s what you do.

But if your battery on your watch can not last long you might need to make sure you don’t have an issue with that battery or your settings.
