MP4 Files on iPhone 18 iOS 17.4.1 wont auto-play

I have a list of MP4 files I am trying to get to auto play (next file plays when current file finishes). It was working for a while then stopped playing the next file, just returning the file list.

I am using the file folder app on iPhone 13 with a flash drive containing the files. The Auto Play switch is on in the Camera settings.

What could be the problem?

iPhone SE, iOS 13

iTunes Match gives you access to all of your music on all of your devices, even songs that you've imported from other sources such as CDs.

Problem Solved

OK, so I continued to research various iPhone apps including iTunes Match, which is $24.99 per year. Other apps displayed adds which was not appropriate for the application I have which is AV Teleprompter for music performance.

After many app trials, I found that VLC, a free app worked great. To stream MP4 files directly from an external flash drive on the iPhone:

  1. Plug flash drive into iPhone (you will need an adapter like Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter available on Amazon for around $40.00. This unit adapts a USB 3 to lightning connector on iPhone 13 and others).
  2. On the VLC App go to Network ->Local Files->Locations.
  3. You will see the Flash Drive on the list.
  4. Select the Drive and then select the files you want to play.
