Mac mini to Nikon CoolScan4000ED cable?

Trying to use NikonCoolScan400ED slide scanner; IEEE1394 out to ?


I have a new(er) Mac mini (2023); a 2017 and a 2011 iMac; I've used it on the 2011.


What kind of cable do I need to use it on the 2017 iMac? (is it even possible to use it via the new Mac mini?

Since the mini has usb ports, I dont' see why not?...?

IEEE1394 is commonly known as Firewire so you would need a USB-C Thunderbolt to Firewire setup. Unfortunately it’s not easy and requires several adapters.


The following video explains in detail how to do this. The video is accurate and I used the exact same adapters to connect an old Firewire drive to my M1 Studio Max
