Events from Advent Calender appearing on Apple Calendar

Apple really needs to get its act together on this. I had YSL advent calendar events appears on my calendar. I long-pressed and cut them and they came back, from multiple email addresses. I found a ysl calendar invite in my junk box, deleted it, and all of the events disappeared. Apple, please tell us that it isn’t that simple to hack our phones?

I’ve just deleted all the emails I found in my junk and blocked the contact but they’re still there.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks so much for this info. I noticed a couple of these spam invites today, spread in my calendar for every day from mid Dec till mid Jan, and was worried I got hacked. Luckily none of these were accepted. One of them I managed to get rid of by finding emails in junk and deleting them, as you said, and it worked a treat. The other one was more of a pain, as it kept on reappearing in my calendar. I ended up declining the invite for each day it appeared in, one by one, and once the last one was declined, the whole month of invites disappeared. What a relief. Thanks so much for your help!
