Unable to open Books after upgrading to iPhone 16

I can’t open my books after upgrading to IPhone 16. I get the message “It’s formatted incorrectly, or it is not a format that Apple Books can open”

Unable to open Current reads on Books after iPad update. I recently updated my ipad to iOS 17.4. After the update I was able to use apple Books to read epub files as normal. After closing the app fully though and trying to open the files, they now won't open at all. I can't get them to open from my library or from the continue reading section. Unable to open book on Apple Books app in my iPad. For the last month, I have intermittently not been able to open books in my library. Now I can’t at all. Most of the books no longer display their covers, now simply a solid cover with the book title. I have updated to IOS 18.3.1. I have heard that the latest few updates are the cause of the problem.
