I have an iPhone 12 with Ios 18.1.1. It no longer vibrates and I can't figure out how to bring the vibrate function back. In fact, I can't even FIND the vibrate function anywhere on my phone to turn it on, much less off. Under Sounds and Haptics, there's no way to turn on the vibrate function. I used to be able to have my phone vibrate when getting a text message. It was easy to set up and disable. Nope, not anymore. Driving me crazy. Help.

Original battery or not, 79% is not healthy and is almost certainly the reason for the issue. Apple recommends having the battery replaced at around 80% – so have the weak, aging battery replaced and all will (probably) be well:

I had the same issue with my iPhone 14, but it started a while ago. Issues like this happen all the time, and saying that it’s because of an update is committing a post-hoc fallacy. Don’t worry, I and many others have made the same mistake. It’s easy to say that an update caused an issue that happened right afterwards.
Have you tried turning your iPhone off and back on again? If that doesn’t work, refer to Alancito’s suggested and check your battery health in Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging. If your battery health is still good, I suggest that you contact the Official Apple Support about this issue. They are the best ones to assist you directly with this issue.

I've also tried turning the phone off, letting it rest a bit, then turned it back on. Doesn't change anything. As I said, there used to be an obvious way to toggle vibration on and off but I don't see that function anywhere.
After chatting with an apple support tech, i figured it out. The "vibrate" toggle had moved or migrated. Settings-Accessibility-Touch (touch was something I hadn't explored before.) There it was. Problem solved, I think.
