How do I enable vibrate only iphone 15 pro?

Here's what I want:

  1. My phone should never, ever output audio from the speakers unless I set an alarm, or am actively playing video/audio. It should never ring. A ringing phone is my nightmare-I don't know how anyone copes with audio ringtones.
  2. When I get messages or calls, my phone should vibrate, so I don't miss the notification.

Previously, having my phone on silent gave me both 1 and 2. Now with the 15 pro, I seem to only be able to get #1. Haptics never trigger, even though I've tried setting them to Always On, or On in Silent.

This has to be doable-it worked previously. I feel crazy for not being able to figure it out, but even reading similar questions and trying stuff, nothing seems to work. How do I get only vibrations, no speaker audio?

This would be great if I knew who was going to text me. However, I get texts from different numbers for my pharmacy, doctor, etc and I need these to vibrate as well. I’ve tried everything and can not get my iPhone 15 Pro to vibrate when it’s on silent. It’s driving me crazy! All of a sudden I will have 20 text messages.

  • Go to Settings/Sounds & Haptics
  • Tap Default Alerts
  • Tap None
  • Tap on Haptics
  • Tap Always Play

You should be able to use the Mute switch to block most other sounds. If that doesn’t work you can enabled Do Not Disturb full time. To get it working again, do these steps ONCE:

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Focus
  • Tap on any Focus settings that you will never use and remove them (you can add them back later if you change your mind, and even create new, custom ones)
  • Tap Do Not Disturb
  • Tap People
  • Tap Allow Notifications From
  • If anyone is listed who should not call you when DND is on delete them; if you don’t want any calls from anyone, any time, delete all people
  • Tap the dropdown next to Allow Calls From and choose Allowed People Only
  • Optionally, tap on Apps, then Allow Notifications From and don’t add any apps.

All of the above is a one-time setup. After that, turn DND on or off with the Control Center Focus button, circled in green below:
