Some features of a DVD are not accessible

I've been watching a DVD published in the UK in 2012 but some of the features don't seem to work. I can't view the list of episodes. It's a sketch show, I understand one "season" of shows of six sketches, something like that, by Seb Cardinal and Dustin Demri-Burns called "Cardinal Burns". It's a scream but the friend who loaned it doesn't think I have watched it all. I was trying to view the list of episodes but the button is inactive. Has the technology changed since 2012 to make some elements of the DVD obsolete? Can I emulate a different OS on my MacBook Air to make it work better?
