Reverse flow of animation doesnt work in keynote

In keynote, let us say we have three text boxes whose order we have built using the build-order option. Now in preview mode, as I press the right arrow key, the text boxes appear for every click subsequently. Instead, if I click the left arrow after moving through certain text boxes, the page restarts -- as if I pressed a reset option. Is there a setting that I need to change? I want the same smooth animation transition when in the future or backward in the animated object list.

Thank You.

By default, the Left Arrow goes back a slide (or to the beginning of the current slide if there are build components).

To go back one step in the build-order, use Shift-Left Arrow... this will undo the last-built item. Unfortunately it won't re-apply the build effect (e.g. if you have it Fly In and you Shift-Left Arrow to step back, it will just disappear, not Fly Out).

Note that the same applies if you're stepping back through slides, not just builds on the current slide - e.g if you're on Slide 3 and press Left Arrow, it goes back to the start of Slide 2 (before any objects with Build-In transitions appear), whereas Shift-Left Arrow goes back to Slide 2 as it was built, right before you transitioned to slide 3.

Still, there's no reversal of the animations.
