Dragging issue on Google Sheets in Safari (Persistent for 5+ years)
Hi everyone,
I’m encountering a frustrating issue with Safari when using Google Sheets and Canva. When I click on a single cell in Google Sheets, multiple cells are often dragged or selected unintentionally. This issue does not occur in other browsers like Chrome, where everything works perfectly fine.
To illustrate the problem, I’ve recorded a video comparing the behavior between Safari (on the left) and Chrome (on the right). You can clearly see the difference in how the two browsers handle the same action.

Steps I’ve Tried:
1. Clearing Safari’s cache and cookies.
2. Disabling iCloud Safari sync.
3. Resetting Safari settings (via Terminal commands and manual file deletion).
4. Testing with Safari Technology Preview.
5. Updating macOS and Safari to the latest versions.
Despite these attempts, the issue persists. Moreover, the problem seems to follow my iCloud account and occurs on other Macs when signed in.
Request:
• Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with Safari?
• Any additional troubleshooting steps or explanations for why this might be happening?
• Could this be related to iCloud sync or Safari’s rendering engine?
Thank you for your time and support!
