Safari Tabs Duplicating on Drag to New Window

It doesn't happen all the time, but ever since the latest update to Monterey when I drag a Safari Tab from one window to another, it doesn't move it but sort of duplicates it into the new window.

When one is selected, the other duplicate is greyed out, and when one Tab is closed out, both close out. Both also update in real time.

Is this a bug or a new feature? I can't seem to find any information on it. If it's a feature, can I turn it off?

Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out, Tim's Tree.

It sounds like you're noticing some unusual behavior with tabs in Safari on your Mac. We can help.

A good first step is to try to Shut down or restart your Mac and then see if the issue occurs when you turn it back on. Additionally, you can try these steps to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac to determine if the issue is exclusive to your user account, or if it is something affecting all users:

Add a user
1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups .
2. If the lock at the bottom left is locked , click it to unlock the preference pane.
3. Click the Add button  below the list of users.
4. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
5. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
6. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
7. Click Create User.

Hope that helps.
