Can I revert to the Mail App after the iOS 18.2 update

Just updated to 18.2. The Mail App is terrible. I just want it to be how it was, I don’t know, the entire time I’ve been in the iOS ecosystem. You know, like 10+ years.

Amazingly, you have that choice already! It doesn’t require an update! And how to do that has been posted in this thread dozens of times! To save you the trouble of reading:

To remove the icons in the list view:

Open Settings
Tap Apps
Tap Mail
Turn off Show Contact Photos
Optionally, turn off Summarize Message Previews

To turn off Categories:

Open the Mail app
Tap on an inbox
Tap on ⋯⃝ in the upper right
Tap to check List View

These 2 steps will return the Mail app to the way it previously worked.

Turn off categories

Tip: You can quickly view all emails in an inbox. Swipe left on the categories at the top of the inbox to open All Mail.

Go to the Mail app on your iPhone.
In an inbox, tap at the top of the screen, then choose List View.

Apple provides release notes like these above with every update, but you have to read them.
