Image Playground displays "unable to use that description" for every entry?

Open Apple Photos, go to Photos->Settings

In the General tab, click 'Use as System Photo Library'

Now reboot, and try Image Playground again.

I have tried everything I can think of, and "Image Playground" does not work as advertised or as I imagined. Unable to use that description comes up even when I load an image, let alone try to create one.

Is there no one that can help?

I have also tried some of the other features of "Apple Intelligence, which are lacking." I will stick with my other apps until something significantly changes.

Sorry, but it is an actual downer not to have things work as described on my Macbook Pro 2016, which is upgraded to the latest version.

Without knowing more information, we can't possibly help you:

1. Where are you located in the world?
2. Have you actually downloaded Apple Intelligence to your iPhone
3. Are you updated to iOS 18.2
4. What is the exact model of your iPhone? Go to Settings > General > About > Model

I have the same problem on both M1 and M4 pro Mac Minis.

In the image that you provided, the only thing selected was “Party Hat.” How is Apple Intelligence supposed to know what is going to be wearing the party hat? That’s might be why it says that it is unable to use that description.

If you do try adding something in there, like a person, and it doesn’t work, read lobsterghost1’s post.

Your questions are irrelevant. Nobody could attempt to use AI and get the error OP reported unless they were in an area of the world AI is permitted. Nobody could get the error unless they successfully downloaded the app. Nobody could get the error unless they were on 18.2. Nobody could get the error unless their model of iPhone supported AI.

For me i can’t even access it even tho i got IPADOS18.3

Go into Apple Intelligence & Siri in settings. Check if you see ‘you’ll be notified when genmoji etc are available…’. If you see that stay on that screen for a minute. Needs to be installed

Making a new profile solved the problem. I still can't use it on my main account , I have to log out and then log into the new profile account.

I believe it can also be disabled by your organization if this is a work/non-personal computer.
