Apple News Fails to Load After iOS 18.2 Installation

Got my hopes up last night but have to agree, this does not work. App has to load before widget will work. Good try though.

Something similar happened with Apple Music a while back and they fixed the issue in a few weeks. Hopefully they see the problem as not an isolated one affecting only a few customers but an issue that demands a quick solution. We shall see.

Hi! It was the set of steps I posted on the previous page (Jan 8th, 1.47AM) which gives a way (for some) to get back to a working set up (but it's a bit fragile ...). Note we've discovered you shouldn't quit the App after doing this as that triggers the spinning problem (just always leaving it running in the background). It's no replacement for Apple fixing it properly, but for those of us who subscribe at least we can get access to what we're paying for in the meantime. I hope it helps and good luck!

I’m sorry, but it doesn’t look like we can help you out with this. This is just a community of fellow Apple users; Apple doesn’t read these posts. You should definitely submit a bug report on the Apple Feedback page to directly let Apple know about this issue.

Nope, didn’t work

I agree - figured the same. But if I’m at EOL, Apple needs to leave my device in a working state.

I have a 7th gen iPad having same problem with Apple News after 18.2 upgrade. Had chat with apple support didn’t resolve the problem.

Contacting Apple about this for 3rd time in a week today. Latest update 18.2 caused news app to fail to download. Have done all of the above including hard reset. Mine is paid Apple news + account.

We should clog up (repeat) contacting their tech support.

Tried that, but the feedback form does not include iOS 18.2 in the list where it asks the operating system of the device.

I was told the same thing... Apple is aware of the problem with Ipados 18.2 and Apple News not loading... that was almost 2 weeks ago. Did they give EVERYONE the holidays off? Why no update!
